Power of Catapults

*Strengths*
-Range
-Can take large amounts of soldiers, in small amounts.
-Builds more Prestige than any other unit.
-No losses When Farming (best unit 4 farming).
-Cant be attacked by Cavalry while moving backwards.
*Weaknesses*
-Slow as Molasses Frozen on a snails back
-High Upkeep!!!!
-Weak vs.Cavalry
-Cost a lot of Wood.
******************
1800Wood,780Stone,990 Iron,250Food
LIFE:250ATTACK:300DEFENSE:100RANGE :800SPEED:50OVERLOAD:40
CROP CONSUMPTION:10
So they are the strongest Range unit, and also the slowest unit type who consumes a hefty loaf of crop. They are if you will be called a ,,Tank,
How would we compare these in relative to the other units?Do their strengths by far supercede their weaknesses? Are they a viable army to contend with a Cavalry army,Archery army?
*Id like to hear about wat you think, wat do think?

Re: Power of Catapults

Catapults are an extremely powerful unit and make for a very effective army, particularly for gaining prestige.

I think it a folly for someone to say one unit is Better than another. Each unit has strengths and weaknesses and when coupled with the right allocation of attribute points, skills, equipment and tech any unit can easily be considered "the best". After all, a Cav is nothing more than a fast infantry unit, it's stats are either equal or not as good as an infantry except for it's speed. And of course, the archer can also be considered more powerful than a cat if you have enough of them, their speed can make all the difference, especially when facing a cat army....their speed can also be a detriment as well.

Ultimately, I can say that a cat army is likely the most effective troop type for gaining prestige without losses, however, there are definitely ways to counter it's strengths.

What it comes down to is your own style of play and what you feel comfortable with. Try not to think of units as 'more powerful', rather you should balance your troops so that you can be prepared for any situation.

Re: Power of Catapults

Cats are pretty good. They are great for beginners as you don't need large numbers(like archers) and you don't need high lvl horse manual(like cavalry) to use. Great for farming forts as waver said but you can't go mono cats if you plan on farming inactives/forts. if you're a non-warper they're pretty much useless for hits as they take 3 times the infantry time to get anywhere. All In all a good unit but as taem said it's unfair to call one unit better than another.

I think catapults are the best unit in the army! They are very powerful and have a high range attack! Yes they do have sOme disadvantages but the advantages easily make up for them! I LOVE CATAPULTS!!!!! :D :D

And why not, may I ask? Has the development team changed something while I've been away?
