How to recall troops

I am a newbie. I attacked a nearby city that seems abondoned. My troops stayed there. How do I get them back. I won the battle but didn't take the city.

They should come back to your city automatically. Try relogging if they don't show up.
Of course, if they died, they won't be returning.

It says in the war report they were left there. I had no casualties. Any thoughts?

Try going to your "Cities" tab, and select "Oasis". Then look to see if any of your troops are in an oasis that you own. If not, check forts, and your other cities. I have no clue what the problem is, except for the possibility of it being an actual glitch.
If you could post a screenshot of the war report, that would be very helpful.

Using your device:
• You need the photobucket app
• Make an acct
• Go to upload media
• Choose the ss from your album
• Wait till it loads then go to "my albums"
• Tap on the ss and go to the small "i" at the bottom right corner
• Copy the img and paste it on the forums

Using a pc:
• Go to the full editor (if you're replying to a topic)
• Scroll down and go to "upload attachment"
• Click on choose file
• Find the picture you want to post
• Click add file and it should appear under "posted attachments"
• Also, click preview if you want to see how your post will look like

There are other ways too but these are the two I use...

When you send troops out somewhere, you can call them back, albeit for a cost, from the actions page. Maybe this also works when you have already fought as well. I don't know
