I think it is not wrong, they have a rite to chat as long as its clean and so forth. They probably think the same think of us, translation can be a pain though. But I do not believe you can tell another language to silence because you don't understand it :)

without fear there can be no courage, war doesn't decide who is right, only who is left

If you are worried just use a quick translator and copy and paste stuff into it, experts only obviously
how do you let people know if your hot cakes are selling well?

Re: Is it wrong to tell non-English speakers to be quiet in wc?

If Haypi is an international game that does not itself have any rule against languages other than english spoken in WC, there is no argument. The 'expert' was wrong and unprofessional.

It has been amusing reading the posts of those who in one way or another or in round about ways support the 'expert's action. Or who feel uneasy, paranoid or WHATEVER seeing another language typed in WC...but it reminds me of the lyrics to a song I had recited to me. It went something like, "I look around and see that only the stupid people are breeding..."

Anywayz, there's only 9 months till the end of the world. There won't be any WC then. :D

Currently, this is what many people go by:
redgun wrote:It is preferred that players use English to communicate in world chat. If players wish to speak other languages it has to be a legit conversation between two or more players & has to abide by the normal chat rules set by Haypi.

support1 wrote:First of all, English is highly recommended in wc

Secondly, please don't punish anyone simply because they use another language.

Thirdly, anyone has been found using another language to cause trouble or dodge punishment should be punished.

However;
Thomas wrote:Haypi Kingdom Version 3.0 has been tested for 2 months and now it has been stable. In version 3.0 there are three major changes:
1 Added alliance war
2 Added retina display
3 Support ten different languages

^That basically answers the main question at hand.
So with the new version coming out, it will be quite a test for some experts.
Under no circumstances can someone warn/mute or ask a player to take the conversation elsewhere solely because they themselves cannot understand. We do have the choice to copy/paste and it's good to make use of it, as I know quite a few do.

Bottomline all languages are allowed BUT if an expert feels that they are using another language to bash, curse, or break the rules they are subject to a warning after translating what they said. They can then ask them to move along to PM
