Scouting Limit?

Recently one of my guys found out the hard way there is a scouting limit, he was scouting for oases and hits, and got a message after a while "You have exceeded the hourly maximum map reading times." Can someone please clarify whats the max amount? and does it include actual scouting or does it include just browsing the map without even scouting? Thanks.

And i've never even of heard of someone reaching a scouting limit until now

Just heard a rumor that a scouting limit was implemented to stop map scanners, and after '500' scouts you'll get locked out of your map, also making it impossible to hunt troops

Just a rumor but it makes sense to this story

I just got an alliance letter that was telling us its 500scouts a hr. Not sure how true that is.

that isnt true. you may scroll up to 1000 times on the map per hour
