Confused! Made 2nd Marquis - - what next?

Hi all,

Perhaps it's just me, but I am thoroughly confused on what to do next in this game. Here is what I've done so far after months of playing:

1. Made 2nd Marquis
2. Fully maxed out 5 cities and all its buildings
3. Fully maxed out everything you can in the Tech building. Everything at level 10.
4. Have around 5000 troops per city.
5. Send them out twice a day to hunt...collecting everything I can from the hunts.
6. Up to 557372 prestige. Understand I need 650,000 to hit 1st Marquis

Questions
1. I try to attack things on my map...like a plot of land with a red number on it. But never get any prestige. Am I doing something wrong?
2. Because I have maxed out all my cities my prestige growth has slowed down to a screeching halt. How can I start building my prestige again?

I am really confused about what to do next. All I do is hunt and it is getting boring.

Would appreciate any help you guys could give. I am not in an alliance, BTW. Thanks

Before you do anything else, join an alliance. You simply don't have the experience to roll around haypi by yourself. After that, It would seem you've missed a huge aspect of the game...PvP.

The greatest, most efficient and yet most challenging yet satisfying way to earn prestige is by beating other players. Not just beating them, but destroying them. Seeing them driven before you, and listening to the lamentation of their women.

You may not know this, but you can actually use those troops you've built to attack players just like you...and when you win, you get that yummy prestige for which you so desire.

First you need to scout, and that's a fine art unto itself. Next you'll need to master your tactics and strategies and send an attack at your target. There's gonna have to be enemy troops in that city when your attack reaches it (and battle begins)for you to win prestige.

The other efficient way to earn prestige is by building more troops. Each troop you train is worth prestige. You could be building a lot more than 25k as you read this. If you want, you can build so many that you start seeing them die of starvation. Let em. Build more. Keep on doing that and you'll earn loads of prestige. But not as much as if you were doing pvp.

There's other ways to get prestige, but they're not worth mentioning cuz they don't rightly answer your question. It's worth it to glance at these and even dive into the guide section for more research. There's still plenty of tactics that haven't been yet exposed, but you'll need a firm understanding of how to play before you figure those out. Being in an alliance will help you to learn more.

Try not to let them starve while you're offline though... that may lead to you losing prestige. That's not fun.

Thank you so much for the time you took to explain things. Just joined an alliance...not sure if they are any good, but considering how little I know...who am I to judge, right?
