topics beinglocked

can someone explain to me the reason topics and posts are locked? i just dont really see the point becuz what if someone has help that they needed but the topic was locked so they never got it? and i understand its locked when its being settled i just dont see the point.

oh. but is there really any gain to having a topic locked? aside from what you said. and somethimes personally i think arguments and some off topic statements can lead to a solution to the original problem. there are arguments in wc that do that.

Topics are only locked if there's nothing to be discussed further in them.. There's no point in keeping all the topic open as people will spam then to up their post count, and lots if topics go in the wrong direction.. Ah and the forum isn't world chat.

Having multiple topics on one subject makes the forums really cluttered.
In turn, this makes it extremely difficult for members to navigate and post in the correct place.

Keeping the forums neat and clean of clutter makes it easier for everyone to find the correct information/threads they are looking for.
I know I personally go crazy when I know there's a topic somewhere I want to add to but have to sift through 6 pages to find it.
