The Fail Whale!!

I've seen the fail whale soooooooo many times. I've even seen it 3 times in one post. As soon as you log on and check out world chat it's there. So i was wondering does anyone actually know who made the fail whale?

idk who made the first one, but on one of the servers appeared a fail whale with wings and guns lol

the fail whale originated on s1 but i dont know who originally started it
