Well I can say that I've gotten a gold and silver chest from daily gift, and I've also gotten many, many gold and silver chests through harvesting my hunts, which seems like it doesn't necessarily fit into any harvest formula that I've ever seen.....I've seen people get them with as little as 400 cats, and I myself have gotten them from very short hunts (1 hour).

i have yet to get one from daily gift but have recieved about 4 silver and a gold in 24 hours from hunting relatively small armies
