Is pvp really about skill?

Pvp is an awesome and fun tournament a nice change from the Normal gameplay. Haypi claims it as a skill testing competition. But it is not! It seems like whoever buys the most coins wins:( I cant really suggest a pvp without coins because haypi brings even more money. But I would like to see only 300 coins given to each player without an option to buy more. I think it would involve more skill. I know it would never happen but I'd wish they'd try it for at least one pvp ;)

I agree, pvp can't be won without money, but it takes skill too.

No matter how much you spend it still takes skill. I would however love to see a round where no real world prizes are given and no coins could be purchased, just for fun.

You're right dev but without coins your skill is in vain. You could maybe get a top 300 finish without coins if you're super lucky and on 24/7 :?

Re: Is pvp really about skill?

Yes, because most people don't play for the real-life prizes; that would make it a lot more fun for the large majority. Hopefully a new version of PvP like that will be created sometime in Haypi's future! :D

Re: Is pvp really about skill?

I would love to have a PvP where no coins are purchased with no prizes given either (except a rank). Most of the time, the people who buy a large amount of coins obtain things much, much quicker... And gain a huge advantage over those who can't buy as many. WIthout coins, there would be more friendly compeition between players to see who really has the best skill.

Re: Is pvp really about skill?

pvp is a mixture of coins, skill and time. if you have all three then you can win. but depending on what you spend usually follow that the more you spend the higher your rank (not always the case)

a barebones PVP has been suggested before but currently no indication of its implementation

Re: Is pvp really about skill?

I agree that pvp has little to do with skill, however I think getting to the top is more of a mix of coins, cheating, and luck.

Many of the pvp leaders have been banned for cheating, especially in the last round from what I hear. I can only guess as to how many players feed during the competition as it's not too hard to find alts all over the map. I've had competitions that I've gone days without finding troops or been attacked, so I find it hard to believe some players can obtain hundreds of thousands of pp.

Also, pure luck is a huge part of the competition. The highest rank I've gotten was 80 without the use of coins and that was just because I happened to stumble upon players who had their troops out.

luck is a big factor. relying onothers to leave there troops out and you being the first to find and hit them
