Things I'd spend coins on
If any of these options were available, I'd spend coins on them...
1. Starvation protection - 40 coins per 30 days
If a city is about to starve, this feature would (in order of preference):
a) Send crops from other cities
b) Buy lowest price crops from market
c) Buy crops with coins
Note: It would obey rules, eg. no market trading during attack.
If troops do starve, they would starve at a 2/3rds normal rate.
2. Put troops to bed - 10 coins per use
It would spread out troops across all available cities within a specific radius (eg. up to 15 map tiles from the city where the action is triggered) so that crop consumption is balanced across all cities.
Example: If I was -20k/hour crop over my whole account and I had 5 cities, it would make sure that each city had -4k/hour crop consumption by putting appropriate number of troops in each city.
3. Gather troops to city - 2 coins per use
The opposite of putting troops to bed, this would pull troops in from all cities within specific map radius, taking them off hunt as needed, etc.
Maybe it could show list of your troops (within range) and you tick the ones that should be pulled in to current city?
4. Auto-hunt - 40 coins for 30 days
When active, it will automatically send troops to hunt if they've been sat in city for more than 6 hours.
This would be useful if people are away for more than 5 days, or have serious internet connection problems - at least it will give them a chance of having their troops still alive when they get back.
5. Sustain - free
A screen would be shown allowing you to choose what things to sustain (automatically renew when they expire):
* Starvation protection
* Resource enhancements (option for each type of resource)
* Auto-hunt
* VIP
Eg. If I've set crop enhance sustain, then when crop enhance expires in a city coins are automatically spent to put it back in to enhance mode.
The option would sustain something for as long as possible based on coins available. It would prioritise sustains in order shown above - eg. starvation prevention is more important than resource enhancement.
