Troops

Please bear with me, my apologies if this has been suggested before..

In regards to training troops, to make a bit more challenging.. Hmm how to explain this..?

Infantry could be a base for all troops.
e.g. to train an archer or a catapult, you'd need 4 or 10 infantry respectively.

I realize that civilians are already used for this ^^ but just a quick suggestion. Constructive criticism only please :P There are a lot of ways this could be improved.

Re: Troops

As much as I'd like to agree with this, you are correct, there are currently civillians which are used for this. BUT, you mentioned bases... why not change a base into a pure upgrade for the troop itself? So the troop could gain more life or so, 2% per level?

Re: Troops

So you would see infantry as the only unit you can create from scratch? and then they can be upgraded to cavalry/cats/archers?

Yess!! That's what i mean!!
Well kind of.. Troops could be trained that way or the current way - though if training with inf it won't cost any civilians and it would cost a bit less resources ( resources to make cat - resources for 10 inf)

I like that as well, though we already have barracks to upgrade, so how about: the higher the level of the barracks the stronger the troops turn out?

Re: Troops

This is the entire point of Civilians.
Currently, with Max Speed Everything, a full build of infantry(2496) takes 15+ hours to train. Add in another 5ish hours for upgrading to Cats and you are talking 20 hours to build 249 cats...This would actually hurt the game as people would NEVER rebuild after being wiped out...

Re: Troops

Since you wont be needing civilians to train them, and you'll be using up a bit less resources - you'd be able to train more than 249 cats at a time this way.. As for each other troop..
