War

This is rough and I don't know if a small device such as the Ipod can do it but here's my idea. I think we should be able to seperate your troops into groups. Ex: 100 infantry, 200 cavalry, and 100 catapults are in one group, you can name these groups and when you go into battle you can select what groups you want to fight (you can have multiple groups in a battle but the max will be four because more will be to many, you will understand when you read on). The formation will be a semi-circle for the defending player, like the groups can be displayed as regtangular shapes and the groups will be in a kind of semi-circle formation from the begining of the screen, and the bigger the troop number thebigger the rectangular. Say you want group alpha to flank them on the left side then you can select that group then use your finger to draw a way for that group to get there. The speed and distance will still be calculated so it is fair. It may seem pointless but say you have a big force that comes to drive up the middle, the enemy's attention will be focuse on that group. While they aren't focused you can have a fast group of cavalry that attacks from the left and is able to get behind the middle group. The middle troops won't be able to have a high defence from being attacked from the front and the back, that would be unrealistic, so it is easier to defeat the troops. Now, instead of having a war report tell you what resources you take the four resource building will be displayed and you have to draw a line from the groups to which resources you want to take. I think this would make commanding more fun, interactive, interesting, and it would take more skill. Not sure if you guys think this is a good idea. Like I said its rough and would need perfected, also I don't know if the small devices could bea able to do something like this.

Sorry about the confusion it's a hard concept to explain I will try to get a diagram about how the commanding screen will look.
