I totally agree with what everyone is say... But even just making that battles better looking would make if better. Also adding more strategy would be great. How cool would it be if you could flank. Or send different amounts of troops forward instead of all of them at once.

I very much like this idea, and as Arythy said it DOES take a lot of strategie, but I would like it to be more challenging. :D

I also like this idea, I really don't like sending ALL of my troops in at once, it would be much more interesting if you can choose how many you can send..

I support this idea too, the problem is that people with catapults that have blockers would bring say 20 archers and send 1 forward each round, effectively stalling all 20 rounds. There could be a way around this implemented if this idea worked though

I picture the battle field as 4 mega units, and the number you have means the stronger that one unit is... I'm against splitting up troops, like skydreamer said, it could stall battles

im not sure how splitting up troops would work... 10 tabs just for cavs would make people go crazy

A chess board option would be totally awesome! it would take a ton of reprograming and completely change the face of the game, so I'm not sure they would implement it for those reasons. Big changes are risky. If they are making a new game with similar elements though, this would be the way to do a battle.

Maybe they could implement something like that of a side game... Probly not but maybe alliance wars will be something like that and not like normal commanding, who knows :|

You havent taken in the problem and how you would fix it of sending 1 unit forward each turn to block an incoming cav army...

everyone would switch to cat armies again cos cav armies would be too easily blocked and it woul be boring again
how do you let people know if your hot cakes are selling well?
