Fortune is one of the best attributes but it's all about luck. Look at hunts, daily gifts, double attacks. They're all very beneficial and affected by fortune. Thus, fortune ends of being low and hard to get, seeing as it has good bonuses.

i disagree fortune is too unpredictable to be of any calculable use
how do you let people know if your hot cakes are selling well?

If you rely on double power attack in battle it will come back to haunt you when you get unlucky and have none, and since you have all your points in fortune you'd have basically nothing in attk/defense

I'd take a stat that works 100% of the time rather than one that works less
