Lets say you have 449300 of each resource. (max). And you farm a fort with, 50k of each resource. that would boost your resource amount (449300) to 499300 of each. This would make your resource amount over the current max limit. What he is saying, is that if you go over your limit, all production/hour will cease. lets call that extra resource, surplus. I know that the game "evony" does this. It is actually a pretty good suggestion.

yes this is exactly right but my idea wasint that fort farm would do it but player res so make it slightly more difficult to go over the limit. i think this would help people because some people can starve in a few hours it would possibly help people get a life. also my idea is so people dont get like 1b food then have like 200k cats is that after your food is over the oasises will also stop so your getting full feeding of your units to help so people cant get extreme unit numbers.

Re: warehouse overflow

Everything in this topic is really confusing. Could this be simplified/changed to:

If your warehouse is full, any surplus/excess resources you produce or obtain will be sold to NPC for 0.01 unit cost.

This means that if a player has a full warehouse, they'll start earning some money from the excess/surplus. But they'll also have people eager to farm them :)

That could work well:

* Small players often have overflowing warehouse but never enough money.
* Big players need lots of resources.

It's a match made in heaven. :)

Re: warehouse overflow

Eh I don't know about this one. From a game design point of view, it doesn't make sense. You have warehouses that supposedly have a limit to how much they can hold, except when you steal other people's resources? Obviously games aren't necessarily real life, but you start to lose immersion if the rules don't make sense or follow basic laws of physics.

Warehouse limits also keep people logging in. I have to check in at least once a day to sell off my excess crops, or just have wasted production.

We're already not making anything per hour when max is reached. /facepalm

Re: warehouse overflow

Operating on the assumption that this is a good idea:
1) Any surplus you do get should decay over time, based on the idea that you don't have proper storage (aka warehouse is full). IMO this decay should be fairly rapid.
2) There should be a surplus limit.

Operating on the assumption that this is a bad idea:
1) Seems to promote farming :?
2) Seems to undermine the entire point of a warehouse

Re: warehouse overflow

I'll add a point to this topics favor...

It's irritating when you farm something and go only a few thousand over your warehouse max capacity. It would be great if your cranny could hold resources that go over your cranny. Then you have a limit over the cranny that isn't too high, you can now completely farm lv 10 forts with one city, and the cranny already has the resources now so players can now fill up completely from a farm.
agreement that surplus should decay/deplete over time. Perhaps giving the minimum market price for the fallen crops in money.
^^
Being able to store money or resources in forts as a back up would be amazing too. (manual of course) It is a fort. Should be able to defend with at least traps too. ^^

Re: warehouse overflow

there would be a decay of excess resources and it would be rather fast but i also had ideas for a limit to the excess i havent thout of one thou and main reason i thout of this idea is for the alliance expansion idea from vayneglory to help with the excess res it could make lvling up the alliance slightly faster.
