4K Money is nothing for high level players. Once you hit about level 14-15, you should have enough army to take over high level forts. A lvl 10 fort gives you 4800 per day for each fort.
So yes, the daily gift is often insulting to high lvl players and the only reason that most even bother getting it is the very small chance they'll get coins out of it...
