Alliance Wars Upgrade
Alliance techs:
Set out a few possible tech trees that alliances can decide on and work towards. but make them optional set down different paths so each alliances choose whether to reserach techs (as an alliance) that help them as individuals or as a team. for example:
Alliance tech: Banking, meaning they recieve extra discount from the system when purchasing resources.
Indiviual tech: Irregation, meaning that being a member of a alliance that has researched these techs recieves a +% crop production in all cities etc.
I'd make these paths one way so an alliance has to decide as a team from the start which route they take.
Honor, Honour:
Aside from more levels as lvl 5's are popping up everywhere, make them more benificial to players as individuals for example the higher level medal a player has the better daily gift they get or something like that.
Alliance hero:
This has always been suggested but as individual hero's per player rather than adding a alliance hero that an alliance builds up by training with techs and equiping with equipment. This hero gives a stat boost to his alliance army and is needed for an alliance to battle. You could factor stamina in here so that if a alliance has better stats than everyone else they can't just go around wiping other teams all in one go, giving other teams chance to react.
Please feel free to let me know what you think, but i do think something needs to change with the mines as the majority of people now don't care about them.
