I for one always forget about my wars and then I turn around to find the war over. I for one believe a message should appear saying 'war is beginning' and maybe contain a button to jump to the 'command troops' screen
Re: War Pop-Up
use the timer on your device to remind yourself of the attack if you keep forgetting to command
how do you let people know if your hot cakes are selling well?

It's kind of hard when your trying to sell stuff, chat on wc and organize upgrades. I miss it regularly. Sometimes the timer doesn't appear

I agree, or when you are being attacked. I mean honestly If i was the King and I was being attacked I would like to be informed.

Re: War Pop-Up
You are informed when you are attacked. It will turn up red on your building screen (if not hidden).
If you have your notifications turned on, you will be informed of an attack and it will pop up on your screen if it is not a Hidden attack (I think notifications are only for iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch).
How to turn on notifications: Go to Settings > Notifcations > On and select all notifications for Haypi Kingdom
Also, I agree just use your phone timer. If it takes too long to set up, then look for another one that's quicker (what I did).

I find it easier to not switch apps at all, and just use a watch timer. Any way will work, and if your iPod is not working correctly with its timer then I'd suggest using an entirely different device to count the time.
