Re: International Baccalaureate
I applied for it but didn't go cause the school is a 3 hr bus ride away.
I have some friends who went through it. Out of 3 friends 2 have dropped out.
It is extreamly rigoris and you will be putting A LOT of time into your studies to be able to attain a high grade.
I would be extreamly careful in your choice.

Yeah I've heard it's really rigorous and time-consuming, but I need some padding in my transcripts. >.>

Re: International Baccalaureate
Itss sort of a college prep thing, yeah? One of our llocal HS's has that program. Its tough but do-able, from what I've heard
Re: International Baccalaureate
have yu heard of Advanced Placement(AP) classes otherwise known as college courses in high school? IB is in other countries, although there are some schools in US that offer these classes. Both AP and IB are for college credits, basicly same thing

AP is a set of certain specific classes that can be taken for college credit
IB is a program, not just a couple of elective classes
Re: International Baccalaureate
IB is basically another form of A-Levels accumulated in points which are equivilent to grades, 42 *I THINK* is equivilent to 7 A*'s. You should know for IB that your required to take a language (compulsory) and other subjects based in a circle of nearly every type - History, Geog, Physics etc.
It is a difficult challenge and much harder than A-levels. If your not sure what you will be doing in future, IB is for you, it gives you an 'all-around' perspective of everything, if you know what you want to do in future will be tough, I suggest doing IB because again - it gives you benefits that A-level doesn't.
IB is more of a controlled learning education system rather than A-levels. This is because you have much less free periods than an A-level student has. So if your not an independent learner and feel you will do well in IB - I suggest you go for it...

Re: International Baccalaureate
Oh, I've already applied and been accepted. Was wondering if anybody had gone through and could offer advice xD. I know it's much mUch more rigorous than AP, but with it's wide spectrum it might help me decide what to do with my life;S
