Is it even possible to beat this map on the tree?

Yes!
Well of-course it gets harder the higher you go up on tree but best advice is:

Turns =
1: move up to the small cover and aim for wooden planks in back preferably with volley
2: Fire at grenadier/flame with you best shot and on the enemies turn grenadier/flame will kill eggy
3: finish grenadier/flame

This is harder than it sounds :l

you can make ruthless eggy move to grenadier/flame by volleying. best is with flaming. and kill first grenadier
