Arch. wrote:Someone should make an infantry guide!!!! I trained 1k infantry on S33 and got attacked by 100 cats and won ( somehow lol ). I had maxed speed and maxed treasures as well. I only took 400 infantry losses so still got prestige. Maybe one to think about...

that means your infantry move 412 per round. The field length was somewhere between 1100 and 1260. We'll pretend it's 1260 for this. 1260/412 is just barely over 3.
412*3=1236. That leaves 24 to play with. Infantry without shooting have 25 range. (yes shooting affects all units, despite the title. I can prove this if you don't believe me and want to pm me. :D )
This all means that his 100 cats only had 3 turns to kill 1000 infantry. It just really won't happen. LOL. When people say cats can attack forts if you have 10% of their infantry in cats, those are against BASIC infantry with only 150 speed. Max speed infantry have 412 movement!!!! and higher defense too if you have attributes, techs, or equipment adding!!!!

So yeah, the person that attacked you was rather foolish. :)

Re: Cav Guide- By Request of Redgun

Wow thats some pretty cool maths :D So basically If I were to send like 10k infantry at a lvl 2 fort do you think I would win with less than 500 losses? ( I have lvl 6 heal, lvl 10 shooting lvl 10 defence maxed speed and marching and Ill use 1 cavalry as a meat shield )

I farm level 3 forts with 9-10K inf daily :) Max equips and tech though.
Haven't found a level 4 within 5 mins to play with yet.

You'd own that lv2 fort (I'm sure)

Re: Cav Guide- By Request of Redgun

thats great maths erraven. i understand logistics involved in commanded fight and wouldnt attack in those circumstances, my question was more specifically about an army on auto. enemy being caught offline so cav and catas moving forward right off the bat.

I simply dont see how the plan on first post can work if the archers move forward more than 2 rounds no matter what stats. have a look at first post properly in his battle scenario.

heres the quote.
"Round 1
Cavalry: Wait
Archers: Forward aim at Cavalry

Round 2
Cavalry: Wait
Archers: Forward aim at infantry

Round 3
Cavalry: Forward
Archers: Forward aim at archer

Round 4
Cavalry: Forwardhit catapults
Archers: Forward hit catapults
Now this should preside to the end of the battle right here if you are attacking catapults of the right dimensions you should have made sure you had about 1.7x the amount of cav to catapults. Along with the weak but mighty attacks from the archers the catapults should have died."

i dont get how archers move forward 3 rounds and stay alive. are we talking massive inf numbers to meatshield here?

and thanks again erraven, from what iv seen on forums ur most logical and experienced player around.

Edit: I did fight an autoed army of 20k inf and 22k catas. had 5k-12k-20k-2k army myself. won the fight and lost all troops but 9k cav. this is similar to scenario i asked about, where field was 1350 and enemy was offline.

Re: Cav Guide- By Request of Redgun

249 cats take 4 hours to make, 1404 archers take 14 hours to make In that 14 hours you can make 747 Cats.
