It would appear that this error is a result of haypi's attempt to stop alliances from using alts to block their mines from being attacked by sending 1 troop from their alt alliance. We tested this out and it looks like there is a minimum size army that needs to be sent in order for the attack to go through (estimated amount is 1/3 of the troops stationed at the mine, computed by total prestige).
There is a problem with fixing it this way. How do we gather intel about other alliances' troops sizes? The scouting reports don't reveal very much, especially when the numbers gets into the 100,000-1,000,000 range. I'm not going to send 1/3 of their numbers just to take a peek at their army. This would seem to discourage players from using strategy and basically have to resort to "oh well, I hope this our army is big enough" attacks. This will mean only one thing: big armies will only attack much smaller armies.
Well, I suppose there is another option: people will just build more troops on their alt alliances and send more troops (i.e., turning what was previously just an attempt to block others from attacking their mine into feeding prestige to their main alliance).
