Hunting for Zeros

I have been having a terrible time with hunts. I send over 4k in troops out everytime. I hunt for 8-10 hours each time. I paid the 40 coins to move to a completely unpopulated part of the grid, the nearest city is over 2 hours march by infantry. I always pick a new oasis. Yet I have gotten zero for my hunts probably seven out of nine times. This is incredibly frusterating. I am hoping it's a glitch that can be fixed because it feels like an incredible waste of 8 hours if it's not. I have already deleted and reloaded the app without change. Can anyone please helpme out?
Re: Hunting for Zeros
make archers and cav. and cats
Re: Hunting for Zeros
cav and inf are best for hunting... they got the highest speed and the highest overload. Also u need a high fortune and/or speed
Re: Hunting for Zeros
The last zero I got this morning was a 8 1/2 hour hunt with 2500 inf 200 cav 700 arc and 1400 cats. I was getting something everytime four or five days ago and I had far less troops hunting. It seems it's just been the last four days this has been happening. It's probably just coincidence, but it started around the time I started up the facebook link
Re: Hunting for Zeros
It's probably a glitch but yet again chances are it's not
Hunts work like this:
there is a coin (item, cash, tresure) in every oasis. When someone harvest a hunt from that oasis, that coin disappears. So anyone else harvesting a hunt from that spot will fail after that.
Well its something like that =P your better off asking someone with a bit more experience if you don't understand what i mean

Re: Hunting for Zeros
As I understand it, oasis "heal" after a hunt every four days or so. So for maximum benefit, you have to be sure to rotate the oasis you hunt. I spread out beyond my main city screen to a few squares beyond that to make sure I don't hit them twice. Also, you may consider doing 12 hour hunts to reduce that possibility as well.
Sometimes, you just get F'ed. Recently my hunts haven't been so good either, but sometimes they are awesome for days at a time.

Re: Hunting for Zeros
So first off ( for anyone having the same problem ) I received this letter from tech:
I was having trouble figuring out how to get good hunts. This is a letter the support team sent me:
The strategy may alter as we're always trying to improve the algorithm
. However, these rules are consistently applicable:
1. The more troops you send to hunt and the faster the troops march, the better harvest you may get.
2. Theoretically, the longer you troops hunt, the better harvest you may get. If the troops hunt for over 8 hours, you may get extraordinary harvest.
3. The higher your fortune value is, the better harvest you may get.
4. If you hunt on an oasis which has just been hunted by another player, the possibility of harvest may be low. If you happen to hunt on an oasis which is untouched for long, the possibility of harvest may be high.
But if the place you choose is just hunting by others, you will got nothing though you spend much time on it.
** In regards to number 1, this seems to mean, hunt with your fastest troops (infantry and calvary) and send your archers and catapults to a different spot. The inf and cav will have the good hunt.
Good luck!
