Lost trade

I bought some crop from another player, received a confirm mail, and the money was deducted. The crop never got posted to my account and I ended up losing troops as a result. The confirm message I received was dated 2010-08-29 15:44:40.

Re: Lost trade

could it be that you purchased your crops in the wrong city?
i.e
my main city has 20,000 crop
my sub city has 20,000 crop

i buy another 20,000 crop, but in my sub city, leaving me with a total of 40,000 crop in my SUB-CITY not my main city

hope i helped,
BoB

Re: Lost trade

I was in a sub city when I purchased it, but it didn't show up there either. I've rebooted. Please help, as I'm losing troops quickly.

Re: Lost trade

I figured it out. The sub-city warehouse hadn't been upgraded. There should be a warning if you buy more than your warehouse can store.

don't worry dude, i've done that many times, it's quiet annoying, I think your right when you say there should be a warning, however as a player we should be more alert lol

Re: Lost trade

Well for something like this, a player shouldn't have to find out the hard way. The system already warns you if you try to collect q reward that exceeds your warehouse capacity. It looks like I'm not the first to be affected and ,unless they change it, I won't be the last. Ok, I'm done venting. Wait, I forgot to mention that other players read my post and attacked my city when it was vulnerable, grrr.

Re: Lost trade

Players don't seem to put enough thought into getting to know their cities at all. Just randomly upgrade, randomly dispatch troops etc etc.

I think all players should know off by heart the status of their cities including upgrades, defences and especially coordinates.

I mean seriously, how many prompts do we need?

The more that gets added to the game, the slower the app will get. (not directed AT either of you) So what you should probably do is:

Take a sheet of paper and a pencil with a good eraser. If you're up there in rankings a timer wouldn't hurt. Write down
1. where all of your forts and oasis's are as well as what city you took them with ( ;) ) and all city coordinates.
2. For each city write down what your crop negatives are per hour every time that changes and what time your troops will starve.
3. When your resources will max out (bc of max cranny, which was the problem here)
4. when people will max out.
5. when your troops go on hunt and the location that they're hunting in. (some people don't hunt in their own oasis so that troops don't return home when they get oasis jacked) This is to keep you from taking the oasis's that your troops are in when you decide to take new oasis's, but don't want to recall all troops home.

Why do all of this you ask? heh heh. There are extremely good benefits to knowing which city your forts and oasis's are attached to, like when you recall troops, they go to the city that took it. Not the city you sent troops from. Besides that, knowing how much crop is being added to your negative so that if you get hit, you'll already know how much you'd be losing if that happened.
Also, people post coords on world chat a lot. If you see this and know you're near that coordinate, you're probably going to get scouted. Knowing when your resources and people max is so that you're not maxed out for long periods of time and so you can get the prestige faster. People will farm you for having maxed resources too. ^^
Potentially a decent bit of extra work, but it's better than the server having so much to do that it kicks people out a lot, locks up, and lags often. Kinda like what a lot of players have been experiencing lately... (the addictivness of this app is another reason it lags...)

Sorry if I bored someone with a long answer to a simple, already solved problem...
