profile pic pls help

I have been wondering... how do I upload my profile pic on here? I just dont understand. And another thing, how do u guys make that cool pic of haypi monster's monsters n put in ur name and all? I often see them when ppl post replies. It appears beneath posts. Sorry im kinda slow at these things

The pictures with names in them are usually custom made with photo editing programs like GIMP or Photoshop.
