How to beat Frozen Cavern Expert Mode??

Challenge Rules: Fire and Earth are unavailable -.-
I need an Ivory Tusk and can't beat even the first Expert Mode Level on Frozen Cavern. Hope they will fix this on 1.3.

Umm perhaps a Lupas with frigid or non elemental monster? Or just change the weather.

Teach Celestial prayer to a neutral/psychic/ghost monster and then fight.
Usually ghost/psychic monsters at same level range can deal with expert frozen cavern as long as u keep celestial prayer on.

+1 on this

I taught a Celestial Prayer to one of my Flight as it had Fire-type skills. It is pretty frustrating this map, though. I am not a usual user of the weather effects of the game so I find it a slight bit of a pain having to cast it at the start (but just a little bit)! Although, it's the same with PoD and that takes much longer! :P

Good luck, though! Hopefully, you get your items soon.

Also, I believe you can get an Ivory Tusk in the Veteran modes as well. I believe it's like the other maps, where you can get the evolution catalysts in the Veteran AND Expert modes.

Again, good luck!

Am I missing something? I can only teach Celestial Prayer to fire types and the plant types that naturally learn it.

O.O
I can't believe I said that...I got carried away with what waffle said. xD
They are right, you can't teach it to Flight (or other non-Fire types).

I have no idea who I taught it to then? :S

I guess I used my Lambush (only monster that can learn it that is not Fire-type) for that. xD

Thanks for correcting me! :)

Did you have to revive your Lambush often in such scenarios then? Because as far as I have observed, the effects of the weather change does not actually kick in until the following turn (e.g. Monster with faster speed casts Celestial Prayer, slower opponent such as Yeti's ice-type move still hits for normal damage within the same turn). <--- Do correct me on this if I am wrong though.

Would be sad if Lambush just ends up being a sacrificial lamb (oops ) for Celestial Prayer and then die easily after that because it is a grass-type after all. :(

Re: How to beat Frozen Cavern Expert Mode??

two can play the game; your own ice and water monsters dodge as well in the blizzard. i used chunky with cunning and chill, pew, neon and smiter. cunning has a 95% hit rating and it goes last so snowflakes wont hurt that badly. once the mdef is lowered, you can kill it off in one shot with chill and probably ice bullets as well. for water monsters, you can either use them in blizzard or cast rain prayer. in the rain, the ice monsters don't dodge as much and neon can easily kill them off. for the enemy water monsters, i use smiter's poison leaves and poison petals which have 95% hit ratings.
