I had a good laugh at that one. Pokemon can get way more competitive than the happy-go-lucky monotony in this game.

then you had some really competitive childhoods. I played pokemon to pass the time and for the lulz. not to compete. even my brother and I weren't competitive with it and we always fought over stuff so that's saying something. with this though you are actually talking with the people youre facing and you get to know them on a first name basis in most cases. ive seen more trash talk in this game than I ever did for any pokemon one. either way this is getting off topic, so lets just end this here

I only had one childhood... And I don't even recall being competitive at anything.

I'm talking about official Pokemon WiFi tournaments in held internationally, where people actually nitpick every single aspect of their 'mons, including their moves, types, and even natures.

I fail to understand what that has to do with being competitive. If anything, calling each other on a first-name basis is a mark of being casual.

Of course you won't see any trash-talking in Pokemon since there's no chatroom. And another thing: Trash-talking and competitiveness are two different things.

Is that your way of avoiding debate?

Re: Here's a few

ok smartas.s fine. 1) talking to people makes things more competitive because it allows trash talking. that doesn't mean its the same thing and I never said it was, what I meant was that trash talking causes a more competitive environment, but you keep making assumptions otherwise it totally makes you look smart.

2) going with the above point, because pokemon DOSENT have a chat room its not as competitive as a game with one, and as for the nitpicking that's not competitiveness either, that's nitpicking. and to show you how complete opposites they are (they meaning nitpicking and competitiveness) competitiveness means having a strong need/desire to win, while nitpicking means to focus on small usually unimportant details. seeing how they have literally nothing to do with each other id say that point is pretty much pointless (pardon the pun)

3) when I said "you had some really competitive childhoods" I was talking to you and the other guy who actually started this pokemon being competitive discussion, sorry to break it to ya but the world doesn't revolve around you your highness.

4) yes that's how I end discussions because its true, this is a suggestions post not an off-topic post, of course seeing how you cant form a decent argument for yourself you probably cant comprehend that either so lemme just spell it out real simple like, stop posting because this isn't what the thread is for. and by the way, yes, that's another way I end discussions. just saying that now before you ask another dumb question.
