Re: Barren Land

If you will take the time to look the swastika is a multi cultural symbol. It has been in the world thousands of years before that nazi party and is actually very important to some as a positive, religious symbol. So before you go around calling people stupid maybe you should take the time to calm down and think.
Also I really doubt it was purposeful, haypi probably wanted to make a spiral in the map but due to the fact that maps are set up on a square grid, that might make it difficult. Overall I doubt it was put there with the intent to hurt feelings and if you really have that much of an issue you should probably file a support ticket.

Re: Barren Land

I quote from Wikipedia:

The earliest archaeological evidence of swastika-shaped ornaments dates back to the Indus Valley Civilization as well as the Mediterranean Classical Antiquity. Swastikas have also been used in various other ancient civilizations around the world including China, Japan, India, and Southern Europe. It remains widely used in Indian religions, specifically in Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism, primarily as a tantric symbol to evoke shakti or the sacred symbol of auspiciousness. The word "swastika" comes from the Sanskrit svastika - "su" meaning "good" or "auspicious," "asti" meaning "to be," and "ka" as a suffix. The swastika literally means "to be good". Or another translation can be made: "swa" is "higher self", "asti" meaning "being", and "ka" as a suffix, so the translation can be interpreted as "being with higher self".
Finally back on track and ready to help you guys :D!

Re: Barren Land

It's true that some people may find it offensive and I get their point. We are living in the 21st century and after what happened in the history, this symbol is mostly linked to the natzi people.

Even if the origin of this symbol is totally different from what it means nowadays, I don't think you can go down on the street with a swastika flag screaming "I want to be good!" without sounding like a mass murderer... People will just see the cross and assimilate it to Hitler and his murders, so do you.

As a matter of fact, it's like the first name "Adolf" in the USA, the rate of babies named Adolf dropped to 0 since 1939 and if you name a baby Adolf nowadays, it still going to sound wrong and people will have doubts about you and your convictions.

In conclusion, the cross in barren-land 10 was certainly put unpurposely. You actually need to scroll up and down, right to left several times to see it. So maybe it's the same thing for the developers, they don't have a global viewing of the map when they build it. Otherwise, they would have seen it and remove it...

Honestly I doubt it even crossed their mind when making the map. The most likely have a much different view than player have when creating the maps but this games from china and it more than likely doesn't hold the same cultural significance as it does in western countries. And I might be wrong, but I believe at some point or another, maybe still, the symbol has positive cultural meanings there.

You dumbasses spelt Nazi wrong. I'm fairly sure people learn how to spell before learning how to be offended.
