Yea I've heard this as well. even though I've suggested to give experts the a Ability to set the mute with a max of 5 hours. Sometimes an immediate 5 hour ban is too harsh and people just need 30 mins or an hr to cool down

I agree, it would be nice to choose your own duration from 1 to 24 hours.

Ban? I don't think experts will have that power. I think they will be the main voice and the ones responsible to watch for and to report such incidents that warrant a ban. But as for the actual power to ban I don't think an expert will be given that.

They don't actually ban, it's a 5 hour mute they give. That means you can't talk for 5 hours, you can still play though. They make it 5 hours because experts usually give out warning before hand, least most of them do. 3 warnings and you're muted. I'd say being given three chances is deserving of a 5 hour mute

I agree that 3 warnings should be enough, but what if that person just continues afterwards?
That'd mean you'd have to ban him every 5 hours...

Repeat offenders get less or no warnings, and support will usually then chat ban them when they get online. Support chat bans start at a month and increase from there. And ban does not equal mute, bans are usually more permanent, when I hear ban I think a month+ not 5 hours.
