Nerfing Foresight

The PVP combo of a Taunt Pewgway with Foresight and Rhor/Neon is way too overpowered, and I know that some of the newer players are already building this combo. Its sad, cheap and, to be frank, quite pathetic. To quote a friend, 'g a y'. I find myself agreeing. I'll admit that I myself used to like this combo, but gained no satisfaction from winning...

Some might argue that Penetrate may help counter this in the next update, but other than that, your previously butt kicking Flight now exists only to counter this combo. I could beat this combo if the Pewgway didn't have Foresight, perhaps, but right now, this combo is just ridiculous. I feel that Foresight should be modified to function just like Mirror/Magic Shield, in a sense that only the ability to cast the skill before your opponent would trigger the effects of that skill. This means that the turtle would no longer be able to spam Foresight at its leisure, since its probably the slowest monster among those in combat.

I felt that this was just one way to nerf this combo's power; opinions?

I use a Rhor and Pegway combo on my server and quite honestly it is actually weak. One just needs a flight with penetrate and boulder, or a brawny/scythe with earthquake. It isn't as cheap as other methods because penetrate or earthquake breaks it. Honestly I'm thinking of quitting this combo as my starter because its quite useless now. Foresight has bigger issues though with the vertadeath & pressure cheat , which isn't easily countered. This Rhor and Pegway combo has lots of counters, even a Neon with accelerate and lighting strike could beat it.

Not quite, since a rhor with pod will kill a neon using sts quite easily if the neon can only use lighting strike or electrical storm. And pewg will easily kill a scythe or behemoth with water torrent.

This needs to be fixed ASAP.

I posted this on the 1.4.1 update, just wanted to share my thought on the matter, constructive discussion is encouraged please:

Whats the need to nerf FORESIGHT? If I may, in MY OPINION the following factor makes it already nerfed and balanced:

1.) Penetrate can go beyond foresight effect, there is a counter for the said skill;

2.) Foresight is relatively "not absolute" with AoE skills, where the whole point of using foresight is mainly to shield the offense monster in DUEL scenarios, while in 1v1 scenarios foresight does not relatively do anything but delay the hit. with the exemption of explicitly prolonging the turns for some mystery talents to take effect; maybe like Pressure?

3.) Having Foresight balances the use of Skills in terms of Advanced AoE skills are concerned;

4.) AoE skills serve a purpose because of this skill aside for leveling up and going on scenes this makes hitting the Offense monster possible. With the Foresight losing its effectivity anyway whats the point and what would compel and prevent players from using and not using Advanced Book Chests containing AoE skills like Earthquake etc? 5.) Thus, this will possibility create again a useless game "content", it might happen that players will no longer think twice to disenchant the said AoE books. It will just primarily serve as "recipe" again to get essence to buy other much used advanced skills; 6.) Which in turn will just further unbalance the game as it is. at the moment it already suffers from such useless/under utilized "contents" in the game.

Just my justification for HAYPI's consideration. I do think they are valid, I hope they can have a second look at this.


Aside from this, it is intended for you to build a monster explicitly for this purpose. It compels the player to invest and strategize based on the build you will make just to counter this skill. We have to recognize that this is one aspect of the game where layered gameplay and competitive strategy is encouraged as well as letting us know that you just cannot settle for one type of monster with just one type of build and that it will suit all and will be for all around use.

They could always un-nerf it as well isn't it? That's why its a justification in the suggestions thread isn't it?

Just airing out a suggestion isn't it? We'll never know, they might consider it.

Nerfing the effects, they should increase the PP of this move.
