BUG : invalidate not working

I fought a pegway earlier that uses whirlpool I still got low in def even if I had the invalidate and when it uses a rain prayer too much def for him even plant attack doesn't damage much

i want to know if invalidate work to counter mystery talent.

will it work if the opponent has stat boost mystery talent like Force 3, Magic Force 2 , etc...

Invalidate will make those talents invalid.
