Dilemma(800+ EL) - need expert's suggestion

Ok, I finally saved 815 Essence of life. Getting very close to 1000 for Hippo scroll.

My dilemma now is should I go for hippo scroll or focus on upgrading Brawny?

1st, I don't know how good Hippo.

At this point, upgrading Epic seems to be a faster way to become stronger, but from all the other "know how to make profit" games I played, they do this type of things to keep you buying coins. Basically, they make you can pay to get Epic really strong so everyone does that and you have to do that to keep up with everyone. But when everyone have lots of silver and gold epics, then to make you keep paying, they will make legendary much easier to get ( of course if you pay) so you will have to switch to legendary to keep up with others (and of course keep paying). [honestly, I am not complaining about paying to play part. I understand company have all kind of expense to pay.]

I can get Hippo in one month (got a lv 50 flunt, can get another meniss from Chinese New Year event, getting 200 EL and 3 cheap lv 50 monsters in month should be easy) or upgrade my Brawny now.

Pro to get Hippo

1. Getting one more monster in my collection
2. Getting a head start in future legendary race

Pro to upgrade Brawny to silver and gold ( but I am still short of sliver coins to upgrade him immediately)
1. Instant power up

Im kind of in the same dilemma. I want Gold Rhor but i also want Hippo. Then theres also betting, im non vip so nearly everything is very hard to come by.

Spending 10k silver per bet seems unwise if im only making about 100k silver a day, on the other hand 2 EoL seems more beneficial but it will dramatically slow down the process of getting my Rhor/Hippo.

The question that i always come back to is will this monster be in my final line up? Gold Rhor? probably not since im shooting for Gryphion, but Gold Gryphion seems like months maybe even a year away and a Gold Rhor seems like a good sub till that day comes.

Will Hippo in my my fianl line up? thats something i do like the sound of, Gold Hippo seems very far away also but it feels like im inching towards my goal if i work on HIppo. It doesnt feel like a waste at the end of the day. So that keeps me motivated.

So it comes down to short and long term goals. If i solely focus on long term goals, i will rarely see any process made daily, i might even start questioning my motivates and discontinue playing. So i think its best to have both short and long term goals, know what youre aiming for in the long run but also rewarding yourself with short term goals, for all your hardwork and effort.

As for my journey, ive gotten my silver rhor yesterday, i dont think id go for gold anytime soon, im about 350 eol short of hippo. We'll see what happen next in the coming weeks/months. Good luck!

Your long term short term thing does inspired me along another talk with a friend (announimous) in same server in lost tower of Venide.

Hippo is physical and from what I heard is only a tanker which I already got cygness and brawny. So I will focus on upgrade brawny first to get quick boost against others (everyone use either Rhor or Neon) and against world boss too.

As for long term, I think sphirex is a more reasonable and upgradable legendary because you can keep getting him after first one. I also have 530 boss essence so I might get gryphion as well for legendary team later.

Now, the hard part is getting all the silver coins I need to upgrade...

I have a Bronze Brawny and I love it, with everyone it seems like going straight for silver and gold Rhor's, I am glad I made him bronze. If I could ever see an Epic scroll on wheel or get more eol, I would make him silver. But seeing how i couldn't I made a bronze Neon and bronze Patta. I am happy so far with those choices.
I would have to think the effort and EoL, not to mention the components for hippo, would be a little much right now in this stage of the game. I would hope as game progresses more it will become more easily obtainable. So far I haven't seen a good Neutral monster yet, Flight disappoints me so far. So take what you will here, I think upgrade your epics first, that's my thoughts.
