Question about retaining skill

I couldn't find answers through search so I decided to ask my question here. I'm new to the hyapi game and I was wonder how do you retain a skill? My mystik leveled up and it's hyponotism was replaced by meditation. Is there a way I can get hyponotism back? How do we pick which skill gets erased? Thank you!

You can get another book to replace it with, but skills cannot be retained, they learn them in designated spots, look under the info in the encyclopedia to learn which spot they take. Book learned spots are never written over but can be with new books.

Don't worry, mystik is not a keeper. You will soon forget about him after you climb up couple floors.
