Pattafly VS Faerivy

as per the topic title does anyone have any idea which will be a better alternative to make towards the gold monster?

Pattafly is easier to get (exp cave) and has great speed, Faerivy has great defense. I would go with Pattafly.

i believe patta is superior for one very specific reason:

its stats are more offensive.

a little explanation, the amont of stats they have is pretty equal, but the way they are spent (speed, def, atk) is different. imao whenever you dont get any more stats for choosing the defensive monster its not worth it, since a high atk speed monster can go on a rampage killing spree and is way more usefull for world bosses, and alchemy. while the tanky monster is usually only good for specific setups in pvp and pvp.

its not that a defensive monster is bad compared to an offensive, its just that its less effective in some cases.

however if you want it for pve primarily defensive monsters with something like poisen or thorn combined with heal is a great tool.

I'd like to actually try Faerivy because by all accounts it's poison talent along with Toxic Stake, Leathal Poison, Wind Blast and Photosynthesis seems like a combo that can kind set up a team for a bad time. It might benefit from a Water monster lead to get Rain Prayer going to temper any Fire Monster's prospects. After that just sitting tight and living seems like enough. Maybe give a Behemoth or high Def neutral Poison Paw to complicate things. Teamed up with a Taunt Pewgway while getting everyone poisoned might help as well.

Basically I'm bored of the high SPD high ATK/MATK meta game, I want to see some interesting builds and Faerivy is my top candidate.

thats a very interesting built indeed :O I feel almost obliged to try it out for myself, however I only have a Patta for now. Though I saw it also has a Poison talent called Poison Point II. Does Ivy have a different kind of Talent, and mind enlightening me how they differ?

Faerivy has Malicious, you can see it if you go to the Eggs, and hit the encyclopedia it shows for Faerivy. It has a high chance of poisoning on contact, then it also has a high chance of lethally poisoning on second contact.
