Ghostform Shadow and luck. With Ghostform the Self-sacrifice won't hit you.

With ghostform, it just prevents the damage. That still doesn't change much with the catch rate of boomie and i'm pretty sure everyone can withstand a self-sacrifice without dying.

Oh yeah, I forgot you heal after battles. Anyway fingers crossed

just throw a seal card hope you catch it. if you don't, try again on the next boomie

Pewgway with shun to stop self sacrifice and matrydom

Use Meniss to hypnotise him first, then attack him once or twice in between and then start catching.

Use higher speed monster with a skill that causes it confused and hope that it will work for a few turns to lower its health and catch.
