Competition entry no 2
You grew up as a street urchin in an ancient land, honing your skill over time so that you are now an accomplished thief! One day, you see an elderly man buying something in the Market. In order to pay for something, he takes out a large purse full of gold coins. He uses one of them to pay for his item and pockets the rest. You decide to relieve him of the remainder. As your hand slips into his pocket he whirls round with lightening speed and holds you fast. You are about to attempt an escape when you see that you are surrounded by armed guards. They march you off to a beautiful palace by the sea.
Some time later you are taken in before the elderly gentlemen who captured you. He is reading a book when you enter and doesn't look up. Instead he says, "so I have found you at last." He motions for you to sit at the desk, accross from him and slides the book over to you. "this book contains a prophecy, that one day the right person will find these eight relics and they will allow him to see the future. I think that you are that person. But time will show. Will you accept this commission, or should I hand you over to the authorities for thievery?
