account integrity/account hacking

While I understand that keeping account information private lies on the individual, I think haypi could make account hacking a little more difficult. Right now, you only need the current password to change either the password or email address. I think the current email address should be required for both, as this would make it much more difficult to hack an account. Yes, if the password is still found out, the account could still be accessed, but nobody could change the email address to another so the real owner cannot access the account or recover the password. Simply entering the email address could be required or a confirmation email could be sent as is the case with many online games and accounts through the internet.

Re: account integrity/account hacking

That's a very good idea... Very good actually haha, and I don't normally agree with peoples suggestions, you are right about how it wouldn't stop all hacking, and people could still access and trash someones account (because they gave out their password) but at least they still have access to it (unless the hackers no the victims email) but yeah, idk if would be implemented but I like the concept :D

This seems very sensible and would mean an added amount of security and safeguarding
how do you let people know if your hot cakes are selling well?

Thanks for the support. I know there is no way to prevent account compromising but I do believe this would make it much more difficult to steal an account.

Re: account integrity/account hacking

or, players could just make passwords difficult to figure out? i mean i may have too much faith in my fellow gamer but passwords are supposed to be filled with numbers and letters so they cant be guessed. this is a good idea but we wouldnt need it if people werent so stupid when it comes to their info...

What if we cannot access the email?

I understand what your saying - I had this in my head a few months back.

I think we should have an option with a back up email - so it's like 2 emails.

Just my 2 cents... not compulsory.

Re: account integrity/account hacking

Hm, I very much like this idea. It would maybe be a bit more difficult for people to hack, added security.

Why wouldn't you be able to access it? I used the email I use for everything. xD

My point is that emails can be hacked. Anything can be hacked.
Just look at Sony...

well unless you are facing a computer hacker or simply tell somebody your email, there is no easy way to figure out someone's email through haypi. I'm not sure how you would knowingly link an email to a specific haypi player without being told. As i said before, this won't necessarily stop accounts from being hacked. It will just provide an extra layer of security to prevent the hacker from changing the password and email so the owner is locked out.
