How do I occupy a fort?

I send about 250 cats, and 500 inf to a level 1 fort. I win, but don't occupy it. Says loyalty down to 60. So I attack again, but same result: I win, loyalty down to 60, I don't get the city. It takes me about an hour and 20 minutes to attack the fort. Is that the problem? How can I speed that up?

Attacking a fort and winning lowers the forts loyalty by 40 each time. So in order to occupy it, you'll need to attack it and win 3 times within a short time frame, otherwise the fort will just regain its loyalty.

Nope that'll be too long. I'm pretty sure you'll have to do it within two hours. Otherwise the fort will have too much Loyalty and you'll have to attack again.

Hmmm.... well it takes me more than an hour for 1 attack. How can I speed that up? These seems to be the closest lvl 1 fort to me. Do I need to create a city closer? any other ways?

Unfortunately you can't speed up attacks. Yes you could create a city next to
It, but it would take a while to build up the city to create and/or support 250 cats. That wouldn't be worth it in my opinion, because having a city averagely close to your main city is much more helpful. Also, level 1 forts aren't really worth occupying, because you only get 20 gold per hour. If you really want it, you could always just see if there is a high level around the fort, and see if they'll occupy it for you. Then, if they do, you just have to send a cav 3 times at the fort.

You need to be closer because the loyalty regenerates so find one closer to you.
