Compensation

Version 3.0 is certainly a major release of this software. Being a software engineer I understand that extensive testing such as load testing can be difficult and costly. However, those of us who spend money on this game expect a higher quality output then what we have received. Myself and many others have lost troops due to crashes and flaky system behavior in general. It is quite apparent that the extended war refuse period is intended as a time of testing and bug fixing for this release. As such, we the players are losing our money, time, and efforts in the game. I feel that there should be some compensation to those that are active and current and trying to stick with it and give Haypi the chance it deserves. I would be satisfied with the 300 coin offering that was given during the server merge. This would go along way in help those of us who are active rebuild after today's disaster.

Re: Compensation

As a software engineer myself I agree. I will also add my two cents to say that, while some are, the majority of the bugs we are experiencing are not from server load or unforeseen events; this game was just clearly not tested anywhere near enough.

From things that break gameplay like the oasis screen crash and seeing all zeroes on incoming mine attacks, to visual bugs like mine war reports showing the defender as the attacker and other strange oddities, to frankly piss-poor translations where the strings are too long to fit in their display rectangle, I start to wonder how this got out the door.

I think 300 coins is the LEAST that can be done to compensate not only for Hapyi's *paying* customers for sticking with it, for the frustrations of being forced out of production and back to beta testing, for the troops lost not only by glitches but by not having enough opportunity to gather resources (especially on a merged server) due to the extended war refuse period, and frankly for support not giving us a clear timeline of the company's actions to come.

This only scratches the surface of the problems with this rushed release.

Honestly I think 300 coins, a free year of VIP, plus compensation for our troops we lost or had to sacrifice due to war refuse is perhaps a more appropriate compensation.

Re: Compensation

I agree that it does not appear any testing was done on this upgrade. Extremely unprofessional & it has already cost you some key, high ranking people who are disgusted over having their troops starve during the upgrade & have quit. Several major bugs have already been identified and HK remains silent... There should be an immediate announcement made stating that you have people working on the issues & a timeline for the expected fixes. The faster you send that out, the greater your chance of keeping players. Offering a compensation similiar to the one offered during a merger would help to allieviate a lot of the anger & frustration that players are expressing on every server.
But again, before you lose even more players, you need to send out a letter ASAP.

Re: Compensation

Ya I agree also. Although in order to do so. To agree that is. I/We would need to disregard the plain truth staring us in the face. The game is free. No one paid anything for it. Well except HayPi of course.
HayPi Pays plenty.
The servers for all of us players to have a place to meet.
The IP's that we use to get there.
Maintaining the servers the people that keep things goig 247 monitoring of the system. They do all that and a lot more for a game thats given out freely to anyone thats wants a copy to play.
Sure the coins cost real money. Thats where the funds come from to keep the lights on for every player thats logged in.
Who's testing the new version. Think its safe to say, "We the players are the testers of the new version". Theres many ways to find answers good or bad. But if you take a piece of software and give it out, to all the players that playing the game. Then let them load the servers up and use as much of the bandwith as they want. Sit back, Wait and see what happens. some maight not know this. Every single action that goes on with every acount is recorded as data and saved. That way whatever happens theres alog of it. from every market transaction to every hunt thats harvested. Its saved.
It would be perfect if it doesnt break, So if theres some minor fixes that are needed. Finding the bugs in the new version is easy with several servers full of eyes helping out. Compared to the amount of tech staff on hand. The difference in numbers, gets the update released now instead of in a month.( Im guessing a month as an example. I have no clue how long it would take)

The reason im saying the things that I have. Big or small. If you buy coins or dont spend a penny. HayPi Kingdom takes care of the players supporting it . Even a good rating is supports HK. Though what i was told yesterday. really got my attention.

On one of the servers, there was a problem. and every player was affected and felt it as they logged in. So does HayPi just pass out a few coins! No they Pass out the mother load of coins to apologize for this error.
What numbers could possibly be given out to establish what im saying.
Well theres many different figures to come to mind that i have heard.
None of them compare to the amount I was told by the player that lost everything all the way back to the point every player was put to.
That player was given as a courtesy the same amount, that had been porchased. But all of the orders have been made into one order. once again coin for coin, for every purchase that has been made up to this point.
It was about 10500 coins. This is not a joke.

One of the biggest benefits this game has to offer is, you dont need to have gold coins to play at the same level or to get the same items that you can with coins. Not everyone can buy coins. And HayPi doesnt hold that fact against anyone.

So If players quit. Thats fine. more will come. The ones that quit. Leave there resources for us to "Borrow" lol. It would be nice if they left the keys to their citys as well. Maybe they will come back on day.
The players that quit must have missed the memo that said "Theres going to be a few bugs."

Re: Compensation

@Crusnik,

At the risk of feeding the troll, I'm going to reply here.

Yes, I did miss the memo that said there were going to be a few bugs. (Whether this even falls in the category of "a few" is up for debate.) Did you get a letter telling you we were all of a sudden going to become testers?

In fact, if I got a detailed letter explaining exactly what was going to happen I might have taken this a bit lighter. The way this was done was very unprofessional, "free" or not - and with the numbers you were even mentioning, I doubt Haypi is anywhere near being in the red.

As for nobody having paid anything for this game, not only is this complete bs, you even acknowledged in your post that somebody has paid around $1000...hmm.

Oh, and if given the choice, they can take their extra month to actually test it. I'll happily wait for a final, polished, and playable product.

Re: Compensation

Excellent post crusnik. And i agree with yours and the posters above, tricky yes I know lol, but having said that.

The sheer AMOUNT of bugs beggers belief, can you honestly say hand on heart that this update as it stands should have been released??

Come on, we are not talking about the odd glitch the odd bug its the sheer number of MAJOR, SHOW STOPPING bugs!!!

How have haypi communicated with us? by sending a letter saying WR stops at 12:00 GMT and guess what come 13:00 its still WR.

Its the non existant communicae and the pitiful non existant testing, can anyone honestly hand on heart say this update should have been released as is????

Re: Compensation

Dont you think haypi could at least send letters to the players that spend most of their time playing this game do that we know theres gonna be a four hour maintenance and that wr is gonna end. Cuz I had to rely on other players tellung me about things the people who work for haypi aand get paid to odo should do. But instead I thought we had wr for 200 hoursand it lasted not even a day. So I lost 1200 cats.rhg ty took alot of rome. I wouldreally appreciate those 1200 cats and all that pres back. But since I know those lazy assholes at haypi probably wont do rainbow I think I'll be quitting this game
