Has alliance war killed alliances?
I've been playing haypi for several months now, and ever since day 1 the concept of an alliance made sense to me. By being in an alliance I benefited from two major ways:
1) By being in a strong alliance other players are less likely to attack me, knowing that they risk being attacked back.
2) Alliance members would sell each other resources cheap, because they know that they would get the favour returned in the future.
However Alliance wars have come in, and changed everything.
There is no way of knowing who is a strong or weak alliance. The strongest prestige alliance is those who have donated a lot. However an alliance who has donated little and instead spent those resources in building troops are going to be stronger in the game.
There is also now an incentive to donate resources. This means that people are not going to sell, either to each other or at full price in the Market. This has given an upward pressure on prices, which is good, but it has also wiped out the other reason for an alliance.
So I ask again, has alliance war killed alliances?
