Unit type

I would love the idea of a new unit type so I thought of one. I think a shield man would be a good idea. The shield man would would be placed in front of a unit and protecting if from an attack for a round, nothing will hit the unit and it wouldn't get hurt, but the shield man would only last for one round the get killed. Say if you want to protect your cats and you put the shield man in front of them at round one and nothing hits the cats the shield man willl stay until he is hit. Your unit may also attack back while the shield man is in front of him. Now since the shield man is so valuable and could easily turn the outcome of the battle it would be very, very expensive to train and take a while to complete training. After I wrote this I thought of a better name instead of shield man lol how about shield bearer? Please comment and post your thoughts

Re: Unit type

very cool a new unit has been suggested but nevver one like this.(http://haypi.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=11787 for suggestions and new unit suggestion compilation)

i dont think it would really work tbh as it is it a little far fetched

Re: Unit type

sorry i just dont think it fits in with the style of single layered troop layout on the battlefield and how can one standard bearer stop say 50-60K cav for one round that seems far fetched to me

Re: Unit type

Yeah that makes sense. Maybe it could be a major increase in defense. It would need a lot of tweaks but maybe they could make it work :)

Re: Unit type

Sounds cool.. would work well with my catapult/infantry army but at the same time ...... it sounds like it could upset battles really easily and cause a lot of complaining

Re: Unit type

Yeah that's why it would be so expensive to train they could turn the tide of a battle like that.

Re: Unit type

even 449300 of each resource is still not enough imo for a shield man

Re: Unit type

Yeah but the crop it would take to sustain one could be massive. This would be so they can't make more than 1 or 2. They could also have it consume wood iron and stone also? They could also bring in coins and only able to use them when fighting your same lvl or higher lvls. These are just rough ideas

Re: Unit type

Meh, no thanks... Not really a fan of this unit, or most new units for that matter
