Re: Why do nominations still exist?

im just going to say it, the hardest problems with nominations, is people nominating themselves, either through alts, or just blatantly doing it.

the most annoying is people get on the nominations threads and say stuff about how they arent ever on, and they dont deserve expert, but they are so flattered, and blahdy blah. (and yes ive dont it once before) however, everyone makes mistakes, and learning from those mistakes is what makes us better. but, its the people that keep doing it that get on my nerves.

Moderators can check posters IPs. So if the alts don't change IPs every time they could check if the nomination is fair or not.

yes. but im saying that is the problem with the nominations section, its very time consuming. i mean, yeah its a few nominations a day... spread out amongst how many servers? and only a few mods even get on a few minutes each day. see what im saying? the honor system just isnt what it used to be.

Re: Why do nominations still exist?

Nominations don't play too much of a part to becoming an expert. It gets you noticed by support, but it really plays no factor in their decision. Also, the experts are usually chosen on a basis of server necessity, you may be qualified and u can get all the noms in the world, but if you already have a number of active and helpful experts, then there really isn't much of a need for another, thus support will not likely appoint you.

Re: Why do nominations still exist?

Yeah people try to nominate themselves way too much. However, support has been good at finding the right experts from the nominations. I've only seen good experts
