income taxes

I think you should incorporate income taxes into the game. Its hard for beginners to get money if they do not know what there doing. And the wilderness does not drop enough coins when you go to harvest.

Re: income taxes

It's such obstacles and challenging bits that makes the game fun. When you look back, the sense of achievement would be sweet.

Re: income taxes

They do that already with trades in the market. You don't get the full amount, a percentage is withheld.

I think what he meant was the posibility to collect income taxe from civilians in the city so as to get money.

Re: income taxes

That would make more sense I didn't understand how taking a percentage from hunts would help at all.

this however presents another problem, lower levels still have to upgrade there population... also higher players also have higher population anyway meaning it also makes it too easy for larger players to get yet more money

Re: income taxes

You've not really explained your idea but I agree with thLove, a sense of achievement is good. And if you're talking about a population based monetary income that wouldn't really work IMO. To make it worthwhile for low levels it would have to be quite high per citizen. By the time you get a few cities with 6290 (?) citizens each, and trading prices at 0.01-0.03 for resources, the amount of money people have will be stupidly large
