Re: Brawny any good?

It really depends on the move sets and skills that you are going to have on them. Brawny has the highest physical attack in the game, which can be useful against strong enemies; however, he is incredibly weak to magical moves, such as Poison Petals and Sewage, making him a prime target for Epic grass and water types. If you want a more balanced team though, especially against all of the fire types that will be coming through (Blaze, Ignightmare, Draconius, and Sphierx), the best move would most likely be to raise a Brawny with Def Boost, making it very hard to kill with physical attacks and powerful against these coming fire types.

Re: Brawny any good?

I have him and don't particularly like it. His attack is pretty scary but until the little cactus man you get in the tutorial is cycled out of people's lineups he is a bit of a liability of an Epic that consistently loses to a Rare.

Always use a variety of monsters.

Re: Brawny any good?

Brawny is a decent epic with strong attack. But like Stavey said, I would always use a variety of monsters in general. Double meniss not the best way to go in the long run

Re: Brawny any good?

Have none of you played the first HM? Brawny is horrid, his stats are comparable to the Rare blocky and is easily beaten by scythe when it comes to usefulness. Sac brawny for an easy 100,000 silver and just use a blocky with resurrect and self sacrifice. He's rare so the gems are easier to get to teach talents and he costs less to enhance. Plus I'm pretty sure he's faster. And best physical attack in the game? I haven't seen it. He can barely put a dent in most monsters I use while I utterly destroy them. Literally the only thing brawny has is armor III and even them it doesn't do anything against his only four weakness as water, plant, and psychic/ghost all have powerful matk moves, at least with blocky you can use self sacrifice before you die in one turn unlike a certain "all powerful" rhino. And before you say "oh Rex well ghost aren't affected by self so ha you suck" I know, but seeing how you won't do much damage to ghosts even with his "most powerful physical attack in the game" it's not like you're reallllly missing out on anything is it?

Morale of the story is you're all noobs and brawny sucks, the end.

Re: Brawny any good?

That may have been one of the most rude things I have ever read. The discussion wasn't only if brawny was the best earth type, or whether he was great to use. The discussion formed around having a balanced team. Do I recommend Scythe over Brawny? Of course. However, Brawny would be better to have than a second Meniss, especially in the Story Mode. It's always good to have a balanced team, so no, we are not all noobs.

The discussion WAS NOT about a balanced team, the discussion was if brawny is any good (spoiler alert: it's the title of the post) and the answer is no, in fact seeing as the ONLY monsters that can learn pod are ghost types I'd say 2 meniss is a heck of a lot better. Yes, it's always good to have balance, but that doesn't mean you can't have multiple monsters. In fact seeing how I used an all flight team for the longest time and had huge success with it I'd say multiple monster teams are more than well balanced. So again, sucks and noob, have a nice day (is that less rude since I said have a nice day? Pretty sure that's how it works)

Re: Brawny any good?

Again, completely rude, is that really necessary? And why don't you read his first post. It says specifically: "I also have 2 meniss so my thoughts are 2 meniss in my team or one meniss one brawny". Yes, 2 Meniss might be better in pvp, but for story mode, a balanced team can be far better, especially when Ghost types are banned in expert modes. Secondly, I don't care how many of meniss someone has, or whether they both have POD or not, when the high VIP's have two purrfections because of the recent purchase activity. Soon, there will also be Felicities roaming around because of everyone taming on Floor 4.

Is my point clear? Note how I said it without being an absolute jerk. I may be wrong, but this discussion is specifically that, a discussion. This forum is not a totalitarian dictatorship in which anyone with multiple flights on the older Haypi Monsters can act like an arrogant jock. Others on this forum and the other Haypi Monster forum usually gently explain different opinions to others, even when the others are completely wrong. Have some self respect and stop acting like you have no control of how you treat others.

By the way, if you want to go on about your 'glory days' and how you were just doing so well with a 4-flight team, I should mention something. I was one of the elite on Server 2 of HM, where your signature broadly proclaims you to come from. I remember you and your team. I also remember how you got outclassed by nearly everyone once some strategies actually evolved. You whined about it non-stop and called other people noobs when they used 'cheap' moves. Only cheap of course because you got your team handed back to you in a basket. So in return, have a nice day, and get a life!

Oh a personal stab nice. Great way to show you have no argument at all and therefore result to defensive techniques. We will come back to that though, first off, lets do math. 2 meniss plus 1 blocky (you know, the monster I said to get that actually answered his question?) means 3 monsters. So go ahead and take that 3 away from the 4 monsters you can have and :o that leaves an empty spot! Amazing I know! That means you can have one whole more monster! (Yay diversity right?) so now you don't need to worry about two overrated monsters. Speaking of that though that sure was a great point you brought up you flaming idjit. No crap 2 psychics would beat 2 ghosts. That's with ANY type genius. Two electrics can kill two water, two fire can whoop two plant. Next you're going to tell people to not use ANYTHING except physical types cause they have weaknesses. How about showing intelligence and compare them to GHOST types like you should when comparing monsters.

Now then on to that wonderful defensive remark you made (I guess when you get beaten over and over by me some resentment may remain). Those cheap tactics I complained about? Potions in pvp and taunt/foresight combos, which I'm pretty sure 90% of players complain about! and the other 10 use so I'd hardly say I was the only one "whining." Course you won't mention that cause you havent told the truth once so far. No kindly remove yourself from this forum while you still have pity if not any respect from any intelligent player that has the misfortune to read your pathetic excuse for reason.
