Blacksmith & Knight

Wouldn't it be great to have a new building in your cities?
I'm talking about the blacksmith. Whatever the blacksmith produces should be mainly made using the resource, iron.

Features
[*] The Blacksmith should be able to create a unit called the Knight. (Information listed below)
[*] Changing the role of the archer on the battlefield. The blacksmith could create different types of arrows or bows.
[*] Being able to change the equipment of other troops. Such as swords & armour to change the attributes of your troops from offensive to defensive.

Knight
The knight should only be able to be created accessing the blacksmith. The knight shouldn't have any role on the battlefield, just that if you send 1 it should lower the loyalty of a city by 15 instead of 10.

Archers
You should be able to use the blacksmith to change the type of arrows/bows the archer uses in battle. Some that may have a longer range but, a little weaker & vice versa.

Bows
[*]Crossbow - Light & deadly. Speed Enhancement & Less Defense
[*]Longbow - Long Ranged Bow, 75% Chance of hitting your desired target. Range Enhancement
[*]Shortbow - The Average Archer's Bow

Arrows
[*][N/A] - Lighter & Weaker arrows but longer range.
[*]Fire Arrows - Causes your troops to be temporarily burnt. Losing a certain amount everyone round of the battle. These arrows should have a shorter range with a 50% Chance of burning the target. Should deliver a little more damage.
[*]Brutal*[Suggested by Mr.Lox] - Heavier Arrows, Stronger but, a Shorter Range
[*]Average Arrows - The name says it all...

I'd appreciate it if you guys would give me a little feedback on how the thread is & what changes can be made. Suggestions are also appreciated.

Re: Blacksmith & Knight

Upgrading archers has already been suggested. This is just a way to bring that update into game with another little surprise hopefully. We'd get mostly everything people have suggested.
A New Building
A New "Troop" (Does not have a role on the battlefield)
Upgrade on archers.

Re: Blacksmith & Knight

Ehhhh.. what's with all these additions?

Doesn't anyone like the battle system and the troops the way they are? Sure it'd be nice to have a little change once in awhile, but I believe the simplicity of the battle system is fantastic.

It makes the game more about strategy rather than who can pay the most to get the top upgrades/equipment.

Am I the only one who thinks this?

I totally a agree with you, just that it eventually gets boring.
The fact that I'm not trying to force these suggestions on to anyone proves that, I don't really mind if my suggestions get rejected. Not all suggestions are perfect, it's the choice of the person who is viewing the suggestion.

Although I'm not saying that everyone has to accept all of these updates, it would be great if you could accept any one of these few ideas.

I just don't like the fact that if you succeed on 1 attack city, the loyalty of the city only decreases by 10 temporarily. If you could send another "character" along with your troops to decrease the city's loyalty by a little more.

Along with the fact that alot of players think that archers are useless, that they don't have an appropriate role on the battlefield.
