high level users smashing little level users repeatedly

I'm kind of curious as to why people with armies of 1400+ troops keep smashing people with armies numbering less than 50 troops repeatedly day after day, reducing the little armies to dust and raping the little player for his product? I dont really see the sense in playing anymore as the same person wails on me 3 or more times a day and wipes out my armies to the last man and keeps taking my commodities. There should be a army-to-army ration imposed or a level block where a long time player cant wipeout the new players

There is a new player protection period.. It lasts for the very first week that a player starts playing. Also, higher lvl players attack lower lvl players to take their resources easily. Also known as farming :) If you keep getting attacked, try getting a good alliance to help you.

Re: high level users smashing little level users repeatedly

We strongly recommend that the new player might as well upgrade the cranny to the level as high as he or she possibly can to save the resource, move city, join an alliance, choose refuse war state, send troops for hunting to prevent them from being killed and build up more turrets and traps.

It is quite helpful to upgrade your turrets and traps to level 8 or more.

I believe the most effective way to defend yourself is to be strong:)

Re: high level users smashing little level users repeatedly

well maybe certain penalty can be in place when there is such a huge lvl difference. For example, prestige penalty or gold penalty. Much as "the best way to defend yourself is to be strong" there is a certain limit and threshold to when this statement hold true. For e.g no matter how strong you are even with a max of 50 soldiers it would be impossible to block a 1000 size army. This is reason why most MMO games have restriction or penalty when attacking other player way smaller than you. A real world analogy would be using nukes to blast a tribal village who uses spears and shield.

Re: high level users smashing little level users repeatedly

It took me a little while to get that farming is a valid play style, not that I'd consider it honorable, but valid according to the rules. That being said, its rather annoying and even at the end of the first week you dont really get that it could happen to you.
When it was happening to me a scoured the forums and at the time there was a guide posted by Sameh, which has since been deleted, on how to prevent others from farming you. I dont remember it all but I do remember a few points.
First off, get your armies out of your city. This has been mentioned by other posters. No troops to fight, no honor gained or lost. Just keep them hunting, I've gone over 24 hours on a hunt because thats the time frame I have to play in with no ill effects on my troops. Be around when your troops are done training and send them out. This way they wont get raped by the larger force.
Second, after upgrading your cranny, which can be broken with a high enough break cranny skill, before you leave haypi to go about your day, protect your resources by putting them on the market at a price above market prices. Its a win win, if someone buys them you can buy them back at a lower price from someone else and you made some money and also they are out of your inventory for purposes of the invading army. You can cancel the sale to get your resources back when you need them and then put them right back up for sale after you have upgraded.
Another thing you can do with your resources if you see an attack coming while you are online is upgrade something right away before they arrive. that takes it out of inventory too.
So no army for fame, no resources to plunder, why would they bother? Some still do. You could ask them to stop, that may work.
They can still attack but they wont get much out of you and hopefully that will make your time playing a bit more enjoyable.

This is by no means a guide and as I've said, I tried to remember the points I took from the guide I read posted by Sameh.
Good Luck.

Really?? Suggesting this player should upgrade to level 8+ traps/turrets is useful advice? Support1, your responses on multiple threads come off as generic and machine-like. I felt compelled by human nature to let you know.

Re: high level users smashing little level users repeatedly

Support gives advice parting from the assumption that you are a player that purchases coins, and are able to use them constantly. They designed this game around that. The only reason this game has "free" elements is a benefit they grant to us. It is not the base of their game design.

Once players start understanding and accepting this, they will be able to see the game differently. This really is a glass-half-full scenario.

So, all the advice Support gave is completely achievable in a few short days if you have coins to back you up.

If you, like most of us, are not a coin player, then you need to follow Goma's advice.
- Keep troops hidden. Troops give Prestige, which is the most valuable thing in this game.
- Keep your resources low enough so your cranny can protect what is left. I guarantee you that if your resources are never above 100k, the number of attacks on you will be reduced dramatically.
- Upgrade defenses as much as you can (traps and turrets). Once a player learns after a few attacks that youll always have some of these up, he will likely stary to overlook you because his losses won't justify his gains. For a new player, traps will be more useful since they are cheaper to build. Do not build turrets until you are able to upgrade them to at least LvL 8.

That is pretty much it. Other than politely requesting them to cease attacking, that is all you can do. Trust me when I say that it will be enough. There are only three reasons why people are attacked in this game. For prestige, for resources, and just for the hell of it. Two of those (the most common ones) can be completely controlled by you.

Good luck.

Seriously, what he said. Avoiding getting farmed is an in-game skill that's not hard to develop. Just make it more trouble than its worth for them to go after you.

I call it the porcupine defense- yeah, you may get to that gooey center with enough effort, but is it really worth the effort especially when there are those ducks over there without tons of needles over them?

Re: high level users smashing little level users repeatedly

Ok now im throwing ideas in too

1. Like support said build a cranny
2. ask the player to stop
3. hide ur troops
4. if u got coins move ur city
5. ask a high lvl player to sash ur attacker
6. refuse war
7. Join an alliance and ask for help (almost similar to 5.)

thats all i can think about ATM
