New Way of Picking Experts

I think that instead of by nominations to pick experts moderators should get accounts and enter chat to see who's really helped and keeping
order. I suggest this because I help and keep order more than anyone but i don't get nominations because I'm hated from
telling people to stop cussing or something they are doing against the rules. Please respond with your thoughts on this I would especially like to hear from moderators(Shade, vayne,Rico)

Re: New Way of Picking Experts

Votes dont have the final say on who will become experts, in the end its up to admins so even if someone has 50votes, there is no guarantee that they will become an expert. And support and other experts are also in chat and can assess whether people are deserving of the title. The current system seems to work

I don't agree that the current system works. Alot of people who get nominated, put on an act till they get the title, then abuse their power, which leads to demotion and hostility. I feel experts need to be chosen from the small group of players that have been on haypi for at least a month, show extreme maturity and patience, and is liked by the majority of the server. Age should be a factor as well, although, I do realize some 13yr olds are much more mature than others lol I think a test of sorts should be developed, and application, for assessing who should be given the daunting task of carrying the expert title

I like spears suggestion, developing a test for "maybe" experts.

Re: New Way of Picking Experts

It is hard to find mature, friendly, knowledgable and active experts now.

We choose public nomination because we do value the opinions from our players but a lot of players ask their friends to nominate them and some of our experts also choose to recommend their friends, which makes it very hard for us to make the decision.

From now on, we will do more background search on the candidate and we have to listen the voices from our experts and we have to observe more. Even if some one has got the title while he or she doesnot deserve it,we will remove it.

It is the highest honor for our players and it is our responsiblity to be cautious and if you guys have any thoughts on this, please free feel to tell me:)

Agree completely Spears :) Eventhough age =/= maturity. Sometimes it does and we have to realize that older experts are less prone to have a fit of immaturity to impress people. Honestly expert should be considered what it is... a job lol. Most see expert as a way to look cool or get free coins but being an expert requires dedication and a fully unbiased look at the game as an entirety. Most young players choose sides and at times make haste decision in an effort to impress others. Also the whole "Expert Act" players put on to become experts is downright annoying, cheesey, and most of the time exactly what it is... a FARCE!

Already reported 2 that led to titles being removed and seen at least 5 others lose title due to immaturity. Doesn't seem like a lot but you also have to consider the small pool of players that make up the expert count
