Some of you are making too big of a deal as Irish said
The thing is, alliance ads get spammed much more often, and in my opinion are more annoying. Yes the fail whale is getting old. but unlike alliance ads, it soothes your brain by giving you a momentary break from reading text. Because some people made such a big deal of it instead of letting it get old, some people are spamming it on purpose before bedtime just because they will get muted, but it doesnt matter because they will be asleep. So just ignore the whale, and it will end quicker
