Prologue - Haypi Competition Entry #1
This is my short story for the Haypi prologue. Please rate x/10
When father had left when I was 10 years old, He said he was on to something, something big. He said it would open a portal of sorts, make our family rich. He promised he would be back. Five years went by, and he never came back.
When mother died 8 years later I had a job as a merchant, returning every two weeks to her. When I had come back from one of my voyages, the nice old lady next door told me she had passed away. The only relative I had left was grandpa, who lived by the dock. He showed me some of my father’s diary’s, something he had been holding on to, waiting for the right time to show them to me. As I read through them, I came upon his last entries.
“I have finally discovered the resting places of the 8 relics, the ones rumored to open a gateway to the future, something worth thousands of gold. I am setting out to find them tonight, saying my last goodbyes to the family. I am excited to bring more then just fish and a couple of coins to this family.”
Reading those words, I knew what I had to do. I had to find those 8 relics. And finally find what my father had been looking for.
