Re: cav/arch army as opposed to cats/inf or cats/cav
Very fast but id take inf/arch but cav/ arch is goid too....
Re: cav/arch army as opposed to cats/inf or cats/cav
ive never used archers ever, coz they dont kill much and die quickly, but i was just interested whether archers are useful at all.
i use cats/cav in main city
and
cats/inf in my first sub

Re: cav/arch army as opposed to cats/inf or cats/cav
using archers is more essential than using the brute force of catapults. 3 major advantages
1 they actually have a little speed on them and it adds about 5 seconds to every 30 seconds of the infantry so they really aren’t that slow (but yes it impacts the speed of the cavalry. But not as much as that of cats)
2 they have range which people seem to forget, and using this range you can overpower the ability to meat shield
3 at the huge numbers you are able to obtain of archers compared to cats i.e. 5k catapults=50k crop, 25k archers=50k crop. Which seems scarier? That not good enough for you? 20k catapults=200k crop, 100k archers=200k crop
Not to mention the fact that the marching tech and shooting tech enhance the Archer majorly . Also not to mention when you can make 498 catapults you can make 2.9k archers which will win>.> unless you have no techs/stats and the opposition has VERY GOOD techs/stats.
Now commanding this awesome duo army is what makes or breaks a real duo cav/archer army. There is about 3 different ways to command the army but I will show you the way that I have used and has been great for me
Round 1
Cavalry: Wait
Archers: Forward aim at Cavalry
Round 2
Cavalry: Wait
Archers: Forward aim at infantry
Round 3
Cavalry: Forward
Archers: Forward aim at archer
Round 4
Cavalry: Forwardhit catapults
Archers: Forward hit catapults
Now this should preside to the end of the battle right here if you are attacking catapults of the right dimensions you should have made sure you had about 1.7x the amount of cav to catapults. Along with the weak but mighty attacks from the archers the catapults should have died.

Re: cav/arch army as opposed to cats/inf or cats/cav
not all true, u can only go two time forward without get hitted if u got the 125 speed.... but if u got max speed u will get hit first round
Re: cav/arch army as opposed to cats/inf or cats/cav
hmmm...but i would need >20k archers to make the army effective right?
ie: opponent has 15k cats and 15k inf...how many cavs/arch would i need, approx? (assuming techs are max etc etc)

Re: cav/arch army as opposed to cats/inf or cats/cav
thing is, could 100k archers kill 20k cats?

Re: cav/arch army as opposed to cats/inf or cats/cav
1. theres an edit button lol
2. the thing armies like this use is the archers to take out inf cavs and archers. then uses the cavs to take cats
3. and to take out 15k/0/0/15k im guessing you would need around 0/25k/25k/0
im no expert at a cav/arch army but this is what i know
